The Message
Every day people die and go to Hell, seperated from God for eternity because of their sin. This is a completely
unnecessary waste of the gift of God through Jesus Christ, which is forgiveness of sin. He came and died and rose again so that no one would have to be seperated from Him, but most people don't even know.
That is where the Street Witnessing Ministry comes in. Combing the streets for an ear that will hear the message, they skillfully and rightfully use the law to inform the hearer of their inherent need for God, and then share the good news of the Gospel.
The Part You Play
You can also be a part of this ministry, regardless of where you live or your time constraints.
First, keep those who are doing the work in prayer. This whole endeavor would be for nothing if the Lord is not the One doing it! There is intense spiritual warfare going on here, and without daily prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, this ministry would fail. Jesus said "The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few.
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest." (Matthew 9:37-38 KJV) It's His work, He has to do it, and He will do it through prayer.
Second, be a light in your community and bring a good name to those who follow Christ. There has been nothing more damaging to the Gospel message than people saying that they are Christians with their mouths and then living as though they never heard the name of Jesus. If you are a believer, then live in a manner worthy of the calling by which you have been called! Reflect Christ, and when those who have seen the witness of your changed life hear the Gospel message it will have meaning and impact.
Finally, open your mouth and share. Are you shy? The Spirit of the Living God is with you; be bold! You don't have time? What about in line at the grocery store? What about while you're waiting for your food to be served? Look for those opportunities in your everyday life.
